The 2-day event, held from the 8th and 9th of May 2024 in Abuja, Nigeria

The opening ceremony saw remarks from the following key attendees: Mr. Amara Brewah, the Chairman of WATRA and Director-General of the National Communications Authority (NatCA) Sierra Leone, the ECOWAS Commission, represented by Mr. Mawuli AMOA, Programme Officer for Telecommunications and Networks; and Mr. FOFANA Lanciné of the Regulatory Authority of Telecommunications of Côte d’Ivoire (ARTCI) who is also the Coordinator of the Technical Committee of NRA Focal Points.

Mr. Amara Brewah, the Chairman of WATRA, commended the Commission for organising the meeting. He encouraged Member States who are advanced with regulatory initiatives for lowering roaming tariffs charged by their operators to share experiences with other Member States that are yet to implement such measures.
