The 20th Annual General Assembly (AGM) was attended by representatives of 11 of the organization’s 16 members: Burkina Faso, Cote d’Ivoire, The Gambia, Ghana, Republic of Guinea, Guinea Bissau, Mali, Niger Republic, Senegal, Sierra Leone and Togo. The meeting was also graced by the Minister of Communication and Digital Economy for the Republic of Mali, represented by the Secretary-General of the Ministry, Mr. Alkaïdi Amar TOURE.
The meeting held over a span of 2 days, from the 28th to the 29th of March, 2023, during which, several activities and discussions took place in order to further refine and affirm the frameworks of the organization and review proposals presented to the Assembly. Some of these activities included presentations given by international partners of the organization as well as the private sector; it also saw the establishment of 3 Working Groups in line with the Organisation’s Strategic Plan (2022 – 2025) amongst others. The highlight of the meeting, however, was the handing over of the Chairmanship position of the WATRA Conference of Regulators from ARPT-Guinea to AMRTP-Mali.
